Does ayone know of a cell phone service that can really actually provide nation wide service? I have heard from people that say everything works well until you get in the toolie weeds. Is there any experience out there on this?

Verizon has worked good so far. Used to be AirTouch. Haven't been in the real toolieweeds yet.

Noticed the note on cell phones. I just traveled through I-40 from Arizona east and had very few dead spots. I use Verizon and was really impressed with the way I could make and receive calls while traveling.

I have used Verizon in 7 states so far and the reception and accessability have been supprisingly good. In extreme areas of mountains we can't expect the best. I found areas of I-25 in northern Wyoming with no service and in west central Montana west of Great Falls with no signal. Other than that so far it has been good. I have the 150 minutes anywhere plan.

Throughout the summer trip of 7550 miles the only "no service" we experienced was what I posted on the previous message. I even used it in the mountains of central Oregon. Pretty amazing.
