This subject has probably ben beaten to death, but I have a couple of friends who asked me to look into this. They want to connect a cellphone modem to their laptop and dial up their AOL account while on the road, i.e., no land line available.
What is the consensus here? Are there particular brands that mix/match, or more importantly, do NOT mix & match? I'm assuming they would have to know the local AOL phone number from whereever they happen to be that day, or perhaps there is an 800 number that's good nationwide.
Anyway, I'd appreciate hearing how others are doing it.
