Phil Manufactures recommend that you change your fuel filters every 15,000 miles. but 90% of what pluges fuel filters is the fuel that we get today. It is called the degradation of fuel. The University of Idaho conducted tests on the life expectancy of #2 diesel the resuls indicated 26% degradation after 28 days of storage. That means that the fuel forms larger and larger clusters and solids that will not pass through a fuel filter element and becomes part of the polymer and sludge build up plugging the filter. The Algae-X Technology extends fuel filter life and reduces smoke and saves fuel by reversing the process of fuel breakdown.

Ed,When I put your device on my coach should I change the filters when I do that? They seem to be ok but I haven't changed them for 18 months and 10K miles.

Phil you do not have to change your fuel filters when you put the Algae-X unit on. As a matter of fact some of the large fuel clusters that are stuck on your fuel filters now will disolve and extend the life of the fuel filters you have now.

Well that should save me a couple of bucks. More to come when I can hit the road. Thanks for the info.Do you have any info on torque and horsepower? Gas vs. diesel.

sounds like you don't use your motorhome very often. That is the worst thing you could ever do to it. If it has sat that long I would change the filters. They don't cost that much. Unless you are buying them from your dealer! Go to your nearest Napa or closest large truck dealer (Peterbuilt, Freightliner etc.) there you can buy them cheaper. Take that thing out once a month. That will keep your tires from getting damaged due to excessive lake of movement . Any moving part or seal needs to be lubricated to keep it fresh and keep it from drying out . Moisture can build up in the most unlikely places. So by driving you motorhome often will extend the life of everything. It will be cheaper in the long run

Phil, It depends on what kind of terrain your driving on and gross weight. My Detroit gets it's best mileage around 1750 RPM on flat roads, but if your going up and down hills then it suffers due to excessive transmission down-shifting. If I bring it up close to 2,000 RPM in the hills or mountains, then it hardly ever downshifts and my mileage dosen't suffer.
