I have a 2001 Tradewinds LTC. It is truly beautiful. However, I am told by the manufacturer that this coach is not winter worthy (Not made for permanent living in temperatures below 32 degrees.) I explained to the dealership I bought the coach from that I would be living in extreme conditions in NY. He was very explicit that this coach could handle the cold. What to do?

I just found this message board and am new to the "big" motorhomes, but have owned nearly every conceivable type of RV over the years in very cold climates so will give this a shot.

Any RV can be made to weather the cold, you just need to make sure that the "systems" are kept above freezing. If you have a basement model in which water and holding tanks are enclosed, you may not need any additional "coach" heat source, but will likely need to insulate your supply and drain lines and perhaps add a heat strip (suitable for outdoors).

If you have exposed tanks and waterlines, you may wish to purchase some stryofoam sheets and create a skirting.

Moisture will be a problem, so ensure that you keep a vent open somewhere to dissipate condensation.

Finally, it is an RV right....Buy a GPS, dial in SOUTH and follow the arrow.
