We have har two thread separationon the Firestone, Steeltex R4S, LT225/16R load range E, tires in a year. Both during hot weather, running, 60 to 65 mph and under our weight limit.

I took the coach and the latest damaged tire to a Firestone store and was told they would only replace the one tire. Called Firestone and told them I wanted the tires off the coach. They got another local store on the line and made an appointment yo look at the tires. Just to be sure, I had the coach weighed again on the way over to the dealer. He confirmed the tire was defective and made an offer to replace the six tires that remained( the first one I replaced on the roiad with a Michelin as it was available) mounted and balanced for a total of $250.00, the difference in cost between the Firestones and new Bridgestones. No thread wear deductions. If you have this problem with your class C or 1 ton truck, fuss a little.
